America’s budget has boosted its military spending and sharply reduced foreign aid. There will be repercussions globally. Does the Singapore 2017 budget deal enough with international pressures or is it more a populist budget dealing with bread and butter issues? Or is it a post-election surplus budget (Leon Pereira)? Does it ready our economy for the future? Does it ready our people for the future? Does it incorporate a spirit of caring and resilience? Is it fiscally sustainable?
