Insecurity barriers: More countries putting up walls and fences to keep others out


As the British authorities have started building a 1km wall in the northern French port city of Calais to keep refugees and migrants from getting onto trucks heading for Britain, it calls to mind Trump’s plan to stop illegal immigrants too. In our globalised world, wouldn’t such a step seem to be a huge step backwards?

“Building walls won’t change that…” says Obama. Thus, can the biggest challenges we face today be solved in isolation without the cooperation of others?
