How Pokémon Go takes us back to the real world


In the past few weeks, the gap between the digital and the physical has narrowed further with the launch of Pokémon Go, an unprecedented video game phenomenon. Players walk the streets, smartphone in hand, in search of Pokémon, whose presence is betrayed by a haptic buzz. Finally gamers are out on the streets, off their comfy chairs, butts are in motion, and hopefully feeling the warmth of the sun on their skins. Is this an actual improvement from computer gaming? Could this be actually worse than conventional gaming? What are the implications of this new reality of gaming?
